Meet Our Leadership Team: An Interview with our COO, Evan Poole Part 2
Featuring our Chief Operating Officer, Evan Poole
In the second part of our interview series with Evan Poole, our Chief Operating Officer (COO), we delve deeper into his thoughts on the audit industry and his approach to fostering collaboration within the company.
Work-Related Questions:
1. What do you believe sets Poole Audit apart from its competitors in the industry?
Evan Poole: Long-term viability. Since we are generational, we will always continue to grow. There is a possibility that our competitors won’t exist in a few years, while we continue to develop more experience as we get older. We also prioritize accountability to the client after the audits are complete which sets us apart from our competitors.
2. What are your thoughts on the current and future trends in the audit industry, and how does Poole Audit adapt to them?
Evan Poole: Remote access will become the norm, which may increase the error rate we find due to the lack of training for new people working for operators. Operators may become reliant on automated invoice and accounting systems, which don’t always align with contractual agreements, leading to higher error rates.
3. How do you encourage collaboration and teamwork within the company?
Evan Poole: We believe in having audit teams in one place so they can share their experiences, receive immediate feedback, and learn from each other's expertise. This approach promotes teamwork and collaboration.
Social Question:
4. Have your hobbies or interests ever influenced or contributed to your approach to business or leadership?
Evan Poole: Yes, much like the triathlons I have competed in, my entire job is an endurance event. Endurance events are exclusively about your ability to keep moving forward even when you want to quit. This has influenced my approach to audits and business.
